I used to be so mean to myself

I am my own worst enemy

I used to hide my truth

From you

I can’t remember what it feels like

To come out of hiding

I’m ready

Coming out of the shadows like I’m enough

Loving every bit of the real I got

Every inch of my messy is beautiful

Something truly courageous in showing up

I’m showing up

Lyrics from Showing Up – Alex G

I was introduced to this song a couple of months. I was coming out of the fog that had been blanketing me for a few months and still actively searching for answers. I booked in an illuminate session with karen gunton and was gifted my own personal playlist that had been intuitively selected for me as part of the session. Showing Up was an instant favourite and it really touched my heart.

I knew that if I was going to find happiness and really give my business a red hot go, I had to firstly learn to love myself.

Coming out of the shadows like I’m enough

Loving every bit of the real I got

Every inch of my messy is beautiful

It was time to be courageous and start showing up.

This is exactly what I have been doing for the past four weeks. I have consistently shown up for myself, by following through on my commitments and I have been showing up for you.

It feels amazing.

It feels fulfilling.

It feels promising.

I haven’t been able to do this in a long while and upon reflection I believe it is down to a few key things.

  • I made a decision
  • I have been looking after my health through working with a transformation coach
  • I am in alignment

A few people have mentioned to me lately about a switch being flicked off in their head before they are able to do something in particular and I have often said the same thing to others and myself many times in the past. I can’t give you a magic solution on how to make a decision, but I know for me personally that switch has to be flicked and my decision is made. I read a great article recently that explains the difference between willpower, making a decision, commitment and changing your conditions. It is worth a read if you are interested in this topic.

I also believe it has something to do with your “Why”. A lot of us have heard we need to have a “why that makes us cry”. I don’t feel this is the case for me, but at the end of the day there is something deep inside of us that pushes us to do what we do, whether it is positive or negative.

So for me a couple of big decisions were made. One was around my business and the other involves my health. I realised that if I didn’t improve my health, then I wouldn’t be able to be as successful as I wanted in my business. For the past few months I have been working with an amazing local transformational coach, Kirsten Jones from Metamorphosis Body Life Transformation. For me it is not about the weight, I can’t tell you how much weight I have lost because the scales have been packed away, but it is more about getting more energy and brain clarity. I am happy to report that I have noticed massive shifts in both these areas of my life. This is also not a quick fix, it is going to take me time to achieve my optimum body shape & health, but I am ok with this now and this is a big shift in my thinking.

Finally something that kind of took me by surprise, but of course makes so much sense in hindsight, is being in alignment.

I am in alignment with:

  • My brand
  • My talents
  • My ideal client
  • My offerings

As a result I am so excited about my business, my creativity is flowing and it feels effortless as opposed to hard work. I have produced more content in the past four weeks than in over ten years of working for myself. Usually I am only creating content for my clients and now I am doing both, which feels amazing.

So if you are feeling a little off kilter, take some time to look at where you are not in alignment and often you will find the answers you are seeking.

Do you love the products or services you are offering?

Are you working with your most aligned clients?

Do you love your brand, the logo, colours and overall essence?

Are you looking after yourself and practicing self-compassion?

These are some the questions you can ask yourself and try and feel how your body responds to the questions and answers. This will also help uncover some areas where you are not in alignment.

Most of all, be kind to yourself and give yourself some space and when the time is right, you too will be ready to shine and show up.

Because I absolutely loved my illuminate session with karen gunton and with the release of my latest creative session Social Connection Session I thought I would host a giveaway.
